Cerenx® (sodium citicoline) is indicated for the specific requirements of patients under treatment for mild cognitive impairment (MCI) including early cognitive decline and memory loss, and for cerebrovascular events including Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA) and Stroke.

Cerenx® capsules contain the precise form of sodium citicoline used in the majority of published clinical research. This form of citicoline has been demonstrated safe and effective in thousands of subjects participating in dozens of controlled studies over the past 30 years.*

Citicoline is the generic term for enteral preparations of CDP-Choline or cytidine 5’-diphosphocholine, an endogenous mononucleotide that is an essential intermediate in the synthesis of structural phospholipids.

Citicoline is a primary precursor to acetylcholine, one of the most important compounds involved in brain metabolism and memory function.

Citicoline helps form phosphatidylcholine, the primary phospholipid in brain cell membranes.

Patients who have experienced a cerebrovascular event such as stroke or TIA have been shown to be deficient in endogenous CDP-choline. Likewise, those suffering from early cognitive decline and memory loss have less circulating CDP-choline compared to healthy individuals. Populations shown to be deficient in endogenous CDP-choline display a corresponding reduction in neuroplasticity.

Cerenx® protects the brain’s neural networks by enhancing endogenous pathways to promote optimum neuroplasticity.

Reductions in brain metabolism have been implicated in both cause and effect of cerebrovascular events. This metabolic deficiency leads to the the breakdown of phospholipids and the disruption of phospholipid synthesis within the cell membranes, resulting in damage to healthy brain cells.

Cerenx® provides foundational nourishment for phospholipid synthesis and the maintenance of healthy cellular membranes within the brain.
